Plain Dosa



  1. Rice
  2. Urad Daal ( Minapappu, Black Gram )
  3. Fenugreek Seeds
  4. Flaked Rice ( Atukulu, Powa )
  5. Salt
  6. Oil


Step 1.

Wash 1: 2 ratio of daal and rice means 1 cup of daal & 2 cups of rice, add 4 to 5 fenugreek seeds and 1 tbsp of powa & soak it for 4 hours and grind it.

Step 2.

Leave it for overnight so that batter get fermented. It may take more time  for the batter to get fermented in some counties like UK because of temperature may be appx 36 hrs.

Step 3.

Next day add some salt to it and batter is ready now. As we added fenugreek seeds we get nice colour & flavour of dosa as we get it  in hotels.

Step 4.


Heat a Non stick pan and apply oil to it and spread a spoon full of batter as you can see in the picture above and add some oil on it.

Step 5.                                                                                                                   



Turn other side and cook on other side some people wont cook other side depends on taste.




Step 6.




Its ready to serve with tomato chutney or potato curry.
